How do I set up a new customer account?

You can get started in just a few easy steps.  Please click here for a comprehensive guide.

How will I know if you received my order?

If you place an order online, you'll receive an e-mail confirmation immediately. You can also log in and check your account.  If you placed your order by fax or mail and listed an email address on your order form, you will receive an email confirmation once we have processed the order.  If you did not list an email address you can call us at 1.800.709.8820 to confirm that we received your order.

How and when do I get my certificate after taking the test?

After you click the "Finish Exam" button your test will be graded immediately. A score of 70% or greater is considered passing. When you receive a passing score, a “Certificate of Completion” will be generated and available for you to save or print instantly.

Should you fall below the passing score, the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.  The questions that were answered incorrectly will be listed for you, so you can go back and correct your answers and resubmit your exam an unlimited number of times free of charge until you do pass the post-exam.

How does your online testing center work?

During the checkout process if you do not already have an account you will be prompted to create one.  Once you've signed up for an account and logged in, you will now be in your “Customer Account.” In your customer account you will see a 'Take Exam' link next to each course that has not been graded.  Simply select the exam you are ready to submit.  Complete the exam and click the "Finish Exam" button at the bottom of the exam. Lastly, your exam will be graded immediately and a “Certificate of Completion” will be made available to you instantly.

What format do you use for your courses?

The courses are available in both online format (PDF Download), available immediately, and mail format (hard copy via mail).

What is the difference between Online Format and Mail Format?

Online format (PDF Download)
Once your order has been processed, this format allows you to immediately access and download the course packet (goals, objectives, course material, post-exam and survey) from our website onto your computer. You also have the ability to print out the course packet. You read the course packet and post your responses to the multiple-choice exam questions and course evaluation questions right online. This format provides the convenience of instant online grading and allows you to print your own “Certificate of Completion” immediately upon successful completion of the course. [This is a great format for someone who is in a hurry, wants instant grading and their certificate, and/or simply enjoys working on a computer].

Mail format (hard copy via mail)
With the mail format, you receive a binded copy of the course packet (goals, objectives, course material, post-exam) through the mail.  As you read through the course material you can fill in your responses to the multiple-choice exam questions.  You then have the option to grade the multiple-choice exam questions online OR you can choose to fax or mail your answers to Milestone Continuing Education for grading. Upon successful completion of the course, a Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you.  IMPORTANT: By choosing to submit your exam in the online testing center you will have immediate test results and the ability to print your “Certificate of Completion” instantly.  The course packet is yours to keep for your reference library. [This is a great format for someone who likes having the course book as a reference to refer to in the future].

Why do you need my license number? I don't like to give it out.

Most states require that your professional license number appear on your “Certificate of Completion.” We respect your privacy and have many security measures in place to protect your personal information.

Is next day delivery available when I order courses?

The courses can be sent UPS for delivery on the next business day after your order is processed.  Saturday delivery requires special handling and is not available in all areas. There is an extra charge for overnight delivery. Example: An order is placed on Monday, shipped via UPS on Tuesday, and you receive the order on Wednesday

Do you ship COD?

No. To keep our shipping and processing prices as low as possible, we do not ship COD.

May two people order one course and take the test?

Yes, more than one person can take the same course through our Share A Course Program. Each additional person that wants to take the same course will receive that course at a discounted rate of $10 per contact hour.  Their examination will be available in our online testing center.  All CourseShare orders must be placed by phone, call us at 1.800.709.8820.

May I take a course if I am in one of the states where you do not offer courses?

Yes, we have many professionals who take courses from states were we do not specifically offer courses. In this case, the state has a process where the individual therapist may seek approval. It is the responsibility of the individual therapist to check with their state board and or association to see what the process is in that state.

What if I lose my Certificate of Completion?

“Certificates of Completion” are always available on our website in your Customer Account. To access your 'CE History" link in your customer account you will need to login with your username and password at www.MilestoneCE.com, once you are in your Customer Account you will see your CE History.  Clicking on the certificate idoc will allow you to reprint your certificate.

I don't see my state listed as an accredited agency for a course I would like to take. How do I get the documents I need to get credit for this course?

You can request the documents by sending an email and request the authors bio and/or curriculum vitae. The combination of your certificate, the author's bio and/or curriculum vitae, course goals and objectives is almost always enough for a state to provide you with continuing education credit for the course. We suggest that you check with your state board or state association for your state specific requirements.

If your state will not accept the documentation from one of our courses, simply fax (800.886.1311) or mail us a copy of the rejection letter. We will gladly send you another course at no charge or we will refund your payment.

How much time do I have to take the course?

The course needs to be completed and your exam answer submitted within one year from date of purchase. If you need an extension or if you run into a problem please contact us at info@MilestoneCE.com.

Does Milestone Continuing Education report my continuing education to my professional association or state board?

In some cases the accrediting bodies require that we send reports on individual learners, listing unique identifiers, test scores, hours taken, etc. Other accrediting agencies require the student to keep their continuing education data themselves, and only spot check on random audits for actual course completion.

How do I report an error in a lesson or exam?

If you have found an error or are experiencing a problem with the exam we want to know.  Send an e-mail to info@milestonece.com and our team will follow up with the author to ensure the error is corrected.

Why can’t I read the PDF file I downloaded?

The problem could be one of two things:
You don’t have Adobe Acrobat Reader loaded and set up on your computer. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to open the course PDF (portable document format) files. If you do have Adobe Acrobat Reader than it is likely and older version of Adobe. Try downloading the newest version of Adobe Acrobat software and this should eliminate the problem.

Click here to download the Adobe Acrobat software you need to view our electronic course materials.

Why do some courses show up for some states and not for others? What are the different approval notes next to a module?

Most states have an approval process for their continuing education requirements, however, some states may require continuing education and either don’t have an approval process or it is a reciprocal approval.

In states where there is an approval process an application for approval is submitted to either the state licensing board or state association by Milestone Continuing Education. The state licensing board or state association then reviews the course and grants approval or denies approval.

Some states, like Alaska, require reciprocal approval of continuing education courses. In other words, if the course is approved by another state licensing board or state association the course is automatically approved by reciprocity in that state.

If a course is not approved for your state / profession combo it will not show up under the search results.

What is a module?

A module is a smaller course within a course.  This is created to better meet your continuing education needs/requirements.  Each module can be purchased separately or combined with one or all of the other modules as a bundle pack.  A separate “Certificate of Completion” is awarded for each module that is completed.

What is a Bundle Pack?

A bundle pack allows you to combine multiple modules from the same course and reduces the cost per contact hour. Creating the opportunity to complete of all your continuing education needs with one course instead of having to take multiple courses.  Bundle packs range in size from a "10 contact hour bundle pack" to a "80 contact hour bundle pack".
